Amputee Football Women Camp in Yalova/ Türkiye

A Historic First in Türkiye: International Women’s Amputee Football Camp Held in Yalova

Hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences at Yalova University, and organized in cooperation with the European Amputee Football Federation (EAFF) and the World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF), the International Women’s Amputee Football Camp was successfully held in Yalova, Türkiye — marking a historic first for the country.

The camp aimed to enhance the physical capacity of women amputee football players, foster team spirit, and establish a foundation for competing at the international level. Women athletes from six different countries came together for a week of high-level training, cultural exchange, and solidarity.

Supported by the academic staff of Yalova University, participants received training not only in football tactics and techniques but also in areas such as physiotherapy sessions were conducted by professional coaches and medical experts to ensure a holistic approach to athlete development.

Officials from EAFF and WAFF emphasized the importance of supporting the development of women’s amputee football, and expressed their appreciation for Türkiye’s leadership in this field.

Athletes shared that the camp contributed significantly to their athletic improvement and emotional empowerment, highlighting the value of international solidarity among women in sport.
